Travel photography- GARE DU NORD

It has been a while since i post something in this website, i think it has been around 8 months since i post a new blog. Well, if you ask me why do i want to start blogging and posting again. It is because, i don’t know what to do with my photos in my HDD. It’s better i put my photos and share it with all of you rather than i put it in a closed container somewhere in my room. 😛 And besides that, i want to share with all of the readers how did i take that kind of photos and where did i take it. From my experience, finding places to take photos in some countries or cities are problem, because they are hard to find in internet. Most of them only put the pictures only in the website, but this time i want to share the places too, so you can try to take that scenery too. The only thing that i won’t share is about the location is street photography, because from my opinion street photography is something that you have to explore yourself, you can’t find the same people or activity when you go there next time anyway. So it’s better that you just roaming around some city and try to take a photo. I won’t share you the places, but i will share you tips and trick to do it. I hope you can get some inspiration from reading and seeing my blog so. 😀

This will be my first photo share for this week. To make it easier to read i will put a certain format in every blog i will write. so 1. title, 2. Metadata(lenses, iso, shutter speed, aperture), 3. Location, and last a paragraph why i took that photo( What do i like about it, brief explanation how did i do it, and also a map where the place is, do you need a tripod or not).

  2. Lenses : 20 mm, ISO : 100 Shutter speed : ( i took it with bracketing so i don’t know the shutter speed), Aperture : f11
  3. Location  : Gare du Nord (Paris Station)

Well, I was walking around 6 am when i was in Paris and i try to find what is good object to take, while i was walking around i saw this station still not too many activity around there, no cars, only few people there. I just like how the architecture is and also The Sun just started to pop out behind the station. What do i like about this photo is the sun light that gives lighting around the cloud. I tried to take it without tripod but of course i can’t do it because the lighting on the sky and the station is way to different. So i think it’s better to take this photo with bracket and process it with HDR. I processed it with Photomatix and did some masking in photoshop and thats it.

Taiwan visit part 1

A month ago i went to Taiwan to join the MYM program. I had never been there before, so the MYM visit that i join made me curious before arriving. FYI MYM is Mid year meeting program that is held every year for a program called APDSA (Asia Pasific Dental Student Association). I left for Taiwan on Thursday and the flight took me about 7 hours. Because i had connecting flight my plane had to stop to Singapore for 1 hour before flying to Taiwan. During the journey I enjoy myself by watching movies or listening to music and sometimes fell a sleep.
When the plane Landed at Taoyuan International Airport. I felt terribly cold since i am from a tropical country. A friend of mine was waiting to pick me up. Her name is Erin and she is a native Taiwanesse, kind hearted, and we often chat on the internet before,. I’ve known her since 2008 and we’d always join this program since then. So it’s almost been 5 years since i’ve known her. Of course as Taiwanesse, she can’t speak Indonesia but her english is awesome!

We took a bus from the airpot to Taipei main station and continued by MRT. It was very crowded there and we didn’t have any chance to talk to each other because of it. Then we arrived at The Leader hotel where we stayed for 4 nights. It was already late in the afternoon when we arrived there. While checking in to our room, i was waiting for my friend from Indonesia who has been studying chinese for a year in Taipei.

After i met her, all of us went to have some dinner. We ate japanese curry that night, FYI i’ve been craving for japanese curry since a couple months ago so that’s why we didn’t eat taiwan food but japanese food 😛

Hmmm i forgot the name of the restaurtan but the food looks like this

after the meal we went for “dessert” @shilin night market. There was a lot of food there, and i ate alot. We enjoy some oyster omelet, taiwanesse tempura, yakiniku, pork, beef, etc. After we finish eating in the Shilin night market, we went to meet up with our friends to enjoy another “dessert” together and have a chit chat . After that we went back to the hotel and we went to bed. Anyway that’s it for the story part, i’ll just put the photos here. Hope you can enjoy it. 😀

Actually, I just wanna try to post my blog by using blackberry.

But if you go to that restaurant you should eat salted vegie too. Those 2 are their speciality XD.

Do you know that bakkutteh is good for your body ? I’ve heard some info about that, but I don’t know wether it’s true or not?
Do you know about it ?

Today i will review a food called ramen 8D . The source of this review is from a tv show called begin japanology~~~
Ramen is a japanese noodle dish that originated in China . Inside a ramen there are 3 important things , soup , noodle , and toppings.

Actually ramen was invented in Japan 50 years ago , and until now there are 28 style to eat ramen in Japan .

A ramen is a food that you can eat quick , so if you don’t have much time you can just eat ramen . Do you know that someone who is fanatic of ramen can eat more than 1100 times in a year?
The soup of ramen is made from chicken , beef bone , vegetables , etc . They boiled all of it in one place and they made broth from them . After they made the soup they can gave some seasoning to make a miso ramen or the other kinds of ramen.

And there is also a ramen called milky ramen , they gave some milk in a miso ramen so they can produce a white and milky ramen . I wonder how it taste like ~~~

Mostly in Japan there are 2 kinds of noodle in ramen , a wrinkled one and straight one .

In Yokohama , there is a place called ramen museum . The concept of this place is to reproduce a Japanese scene from around 1960’s . There are 9 ramen restaurant in that food centre.

Japan noodle ramen is different from china La mien( i wonder how to write that word ) , Chinese La mien is made manually by the chef , they made a noodle by stretching it .

The first japanese person who taste chinese La mien is Tokugawa Mitsukuni , he was visiting China to meet Zhu Zhiyu. Actually at that time Japan already famous with their Udon , so the record from china said that La mien is similiar with Japan Udon .

In 1958 , Japan invented the first instant ramen . It is so easy, you only have to pour hot water in a bowl and put the noodle in that bowl . It was so famous that instant ramen became daily food in Japan.

You know that ramen is very popular in the world , i think you all have ever eaten ramen at least once in your life . And last time when an astronout from Japan went to space  , he also eat ramen .

So i think i can say ramen is not only very popular in the world but also in the universe ~~~~~

And the funny thing is , how you eat a ramen in zero gravity condition , hahahahah .

So that’s all for this week review of Japanese ramen 8D .

At Last I’m Back from Hong Kong

hei guys ~~~ , At last i’m back from Hong Kong .
Last week i went to Hong Kong for APDSA meeting , and also a culinary trip  .  Thanks God i have some friends there , so i know where to go , if not i will be like an immigrant who can’t speak chinese , ( even though i am a chinese i can’t speak chinese )
because of my busyness , i will post about my 3 days in Hong Kong later .  This time i will just post my loots in hongkong . 8D

I bought this bose in ear headphones , it has a really superb quality~~~ , if you like to hear a music on your ipod or other mp3 player , you should buy this one . the price is around 850 HKD ,
btw are you a person who can distinguish between one earphone and other earphone  ?
Sometimes , if you are not get used to comparing the quality of sound , it is really hard to choose which one  has a better sound between 2 earphones .

Besides this earphones , i also bought a case for my Lumix Lx-3 . It is nice , but actually i prefer the case for leica rather than lumix . It looks nicer , but the price is also nicer XD . You know , when i saw the price of leica leather case , i just shout “WTH , why is a case  more expensive than a camera lens , i can buy 10 lumix case with the price of a leica case . ”

So this picture was taken in Mongkok , actually i really want to buy some figures to be bought back to my country . But i didn’t find anything interesting , so i change my mind .
and there is  three question if you like a figure ,

  • why do you like a figure ?
  • how come you want to spend big ammount of money for figures ?
  • and what is the best company for making a figure ?

and here are all of my friends who comes to Hong Kong for the meeting 8D
